Hi everyone,

the comments, remarks, and requested changes you probably have,
are also valuable after today. The editing process of ACM XRDS
will take a while, so we can still implement requested changes, I
think.

We also want to publish this piece as a blogpost on autocrypt.org
- but it's not yet clear when we can publish it. So feedback
welcome :)

Best,

Hey everyone,

A group of us has been working for the past week on an article
for ACM XRDS about Why & What Autocrypt and the methodology.
The target audience is computer science students, so assumed
technical but perhaps not knowledgable about the cryptography,
open/free software, and usability. We hope to bring some
important points to light in this article for readers to think
about alongside an introduction to Autocrypt. The deadline is
today -- sorry for the late email, but we really did the best we
could to get it out in a reasonable shape.

Here is the most recent version, in markdown form: https://github.com/autocrypt/autocrypt/pull/370

The call for the article was the following:

The Internet is broken by design, and has already received
myriad patches trying
to fix security vulnerabilities, privacy issues,
incompatibility, censorship,
neutrality and data discrimination, network performance,
usability and further
functionality improvements, in an attempt to address
problems and overcome
common limitations.

Internet organizations, committees, consortiums, task
forces, authorities, boards, registries, united nations
bodies and corporations
try hard to govern, regulate and keep the current
Internet maintainable and
accessible.

2000 Words.

Any comments or questions are helpful before we send it off
today to ACM!

Thanks everyone,
