Will be posted until Monday, April 9, 2007 Please sign online
petition

Petition to Israeli, Palestinian & international leaders: The
Palestinian-Israeli conflict lies
at the heart of a global clash threatening to divide us all. People from
every corner of the
world want a just and lasting peace in the Middle East - and the
international community can and must help bring all sides to the table.
Start Real Middle East Talks Now, and stay at the
negotiating table until we have peace.

Tell Israeli, Palestinian & Arab leaders to make an urgent date for real
talks on core issues
like the 1967 borders - and the Avaaz organization will put that message on
billboards in
Jerusalem where decision-makers will see it.

Time is short - sign the petition, act now.

(4) CHARLOTTESVILLE STEPS UP TO FIGHT GLOBAL WARMING

Saturday, April 14, 2007 1:00 pm

UVA Rotunda, street side

If you're tired of feeling hopeless about global warming, Step Up with us on
April 14 to join the hundreds of thousands around the country taking vital
steps to fight it, right now. There are 1,100 speak-outs and rallies across
the U.S. on that day - all supporting Bill McKibben's StepItUp07 campaign,
which asks Congress to cut carbon emissions 80% by 2050.

Charlottesville's contribution starts on the street side of the UVa Rotunda
at 1:00 p.m. We'll hear from speakers with a variety of perspectives -
professors, scientists, architects,
economists, environmental professionals, clergy members, and concerned
citizens. We'll learn about practical things we can do *now* to ensure a
better future for people all over the world. Then we'll make our presence
known to the wider community by walking downtown for a final gathering on
the Mall. Some signs and posters available, but bring your own if you can.

Come for the speakers, come for the walk, but mainly COME - it's your best
chance to get all of Charlottesville in step with a sane human future.

More info at www.StepItUp07.org or by calling Rose at 977-2033.

Sponsored By: C'ville Steps Up Coalition (Piedmont Environmental Council and
others)
