LYSISTRATA AT LIVE ARTS - BENEFITTING CCPJ
Saturday, February 16, 2008 8 pm Live
Arts Theatre, 123 East Water Street,
Charlottesville.
TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE:
http://tinyurl.com/2gsz65

Live Arts presents Lysistrata on February
16, with proceeds benefiting the
Charlottesville Center
for Peace and Justice. This ancient play
presents everything you need to know about
how men live
and die by the sword. Ribald and profound,
these words have gained meaning with each of
the 2500
years that have passed since they were
written. And the women they empower have
become more
vital with every redundant bout of armed
foolishness undertaken by the men for whom
they must
care. After the play, the director and
actors will participate in a discussion with
the audience.

Tickets for this benefit performance of
Lysistrata are available at New Dominion
Bookstore, Quest
Books, and Greenberry's. All tickets are
$20, with general admission. No reserved
seating.

THE TIME IS RIPE - HELP CONVINCE CONGRESSMAN
CONYERS TO START IMPEACHMENT HEARINGS
Monday and Tuesday, February 11-12, 2008

John Conyers, Chairman of the House
Judiciary Committee has finally been moved
to consider
implementing impeachment proceedings. He
still has reservations about the
ramifications of doing
so, but has indicated that he could be
swayed by a convincing argument.

He has talked with members of Code Pink and
other activists and intends to continue
these
conversations on Tuesday. He has warned
them that they must be not only brave and
courageous,
but also smart in order to head down the
path of impeachment.

Help us let Conyers know that the smart
thing right now would be bravery and
courage.

Lend your voices to the conversation and
make phone calls, send faxes and Email
Congressman
Conyers on Monday and Tuesday. Let the
Chairman know that only impeachment
hearings:

1-will reach a broad TV audience
2-will force compliance with subpoenas by
eliminating "executive privilege
3-will hold brazen criminals accountable
4-will convince citizens that Congress cares
about upholding the Constitution.

CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE TO END THE WAR
Wednesday, March 19, 2008
Washington, DC

Join us on Wednesday, March 19th, the
anniversary of the invasion, for massive
civil disobedience
in Washington, D.C., and at the local level
all around the United States. On this day,
members
of Congress will be in their districts. We
will provide you with the resources you need
to engage
 in effective nonviolent actions at
locations of your choosing, including

military-industrial complex will be at work
in Washington,
and we intend to bring to bear on it the
most massive, most creative, and most
disciplined
nonviolent resistance it has ever seen.
Training sessions will be provided from the
15th to 18th.
Toward these ends we have formed a
short-term committee.
