<p style="margin:10px 0;padding:0;color:#202020;font-family:Helvetica;font-size:16px;line-height:150%;text-align:left">The mayor of Flint, Michigan – the birthplace of General Motors and the famous UAW sit-down strikes – is doing just that. She's declared a <em>"Manmade</em> State of Emergency" in her town after years of under-funding, divestment and imposed leadership over her city finally brought the city to a crisis moment: thousands of poor kids are being lead-poisoned by water that was never supposed to be pumped into their homes from a polluted local river. <br>

Last month, <a href="http://nyc.us11.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=e81768d548550945ca5d92ce4&id=ace4f66326&e=4e3acac25b" style="color:#2baadf;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:underline" target="_blank">Mayor Karen Weaver</a> defeated the incumbent Mayor who aided the state in poisoning these kids by running on a simple platform: if elected, she would call for a state of emergency in the city and request federal funds to bring livable conditions back to her city. <strong>She was elected, and now she's doing just that. And she needs our help</strong> to get the people in power to listen to her overwhelmingly low-income and black city:<br>
