PAPER TIGER TV presents.. CLASS DISMISSED, a dynamic film featuring Howard
Zinn.  The intent of this video project is not only to critique the modern
education system for its shortcomings, but to urge  teachers and youth to
take a fresh look at what they are teaching and  learning and why.  Paper
Tiger wants Class Dismissed to serve as a tool to inspire youth to become
engaged in the social struggles of their own environment, to develop a sense
of their own agency in creating social change, and to find their own place
within the history of the United States and the world.

May 15

SCREENING AND RECEPTION: 7-11pm

the premiere public screening of the video followed by dj and live music

1/9 to Houston Street or C/E to Spring Street

 

CURRICULUM WORKSHOP: 4-6pm

The first of three workshops to create the curriculum in time for the
2004-2005 school term.

We invite teachers, parents, students, history buffs and activists from all
disciplines to participate.  Bring your unique voices, special interests and
skills to the table.  Everyone is invited to attend more than one workshop
to develop and strengthen their ideas and lesson plans.

(we will provide refreshments 6-7pm for workshop participants

and free video tapes for use in your classroom or community).
