PAPER TIGER TV SEEKS NEW DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR!

The Paper Tiger Television (PTTV) collective seeks a part time
Development and Administrative Coordinator to start work at the
beginning of January.
Since 1981, Paper Tiger has involved thousands of youth and adults in
the production of over 300 social issue television shows; reached
thousands more through media literacy workshops at high schools,
conferences, and community centers; collaborated with community based
groups throughout New York to organize grassroots screenings; and
developed a unique consensus-based decision making and artistic process
that is used as a model internationally. Paper Tiger frequently engages
in production partnerships with community-based organizations that see
media as a valuable tool to increase their participation in the public

The Development and Administrative Coordinator position offers a unique
opportunity to design and implement programming which aims to connect
media making with community organizing. This part time position is one
of the two staff roles at the PTTV collective and offers opportunities
for growth and experience in all aspects of non-profit management. Staff
members are encouraged to become active members of the collective by
participating in and contributing to programs and projects to help
reinforce the Paper Tiger community.
Development and Administrative Coordinator
(16 hrs/week)
Development role: (75%)
* Assist in creating a comprehensive development strategy for the
collective and oversee its implementation
* Educate collective on grant process, delegate tasks and communicate
updates at Collective meetings which take place on the first and third
Wednesday of each month
* Seek new funding opportunities
* Coordinate the development and submission of grant proposals
* Oversee reporting for existing grants
* Coordinate PTTV’s annual donor drive
* Maintain donor database and donor correspondence
* Work with Distribution and Outreach Coordinator to seek and maintain
partnerships with other organizations
* Work with collective and staff to design and implement community programs
Administrative role: (25%)
* Maintain organizational budget for the collective
* Organize Retreat every 6 months, working with a committee of
collective members
* Act as point person for Paper Tiger’s Final Cut Workshops which take
place every 3 months
* Oversee Bookkeeping at the collective including: payroll and budgets
(working with an accountant yearly)
* Delegate administrative tasks to collective members
* Archive materials and maintain administrative files
Qualifications:
2 years grant writing/ development experience
2 years administrative experience
Strong written and communication skills
Experience in activism with an emphasis on community organizing
Familiarity with the following computer programs: Word, Microsoft Excel,
Filemaker Pro. Applicants with Photoshop, Illustrator or In Design
experience preferred. (Paper Tiger’s office and programs run on Mac
computers)
Must have a good sense of humor
Must be a master in multi-tasking

Salary: Beginning salary $105/day (based on 8 hour work day) with $200
Health Insurance reimbursement available per month.
