4th Annual Red Hook Youth Film Festival
Bring your family to the Sunset Family Picnic and 4th Annual Red Hook  
Youth Film
  Festival on Friday, June 6th beginning at 7:00 PM at the Valentino  
Park & Pier
(Coffey and Ferris Streets).
Accordionists will serenade you as the sun goes down over the pier.

As soon as dusk settles, we'll be screening dynamic films featuring  
youth media
producers from South Brooklyn Community High School, Added Value, Hook  
Productions,
Paper Tiger TV, Reel Works and more.

All Day Activities On Saturday
This FREE festival will be jam-packed with activities for children,  
teens and the
whole family! New York's hottest, most socially conscious musicians,  
dancers and
  spoken word artists converge onstage with new works and share their  
expertise through
free workshops with the audience and youth performers.
Professional performers include beat box and spoken word artist Akil  
Dasan, nautical
puppet rock band Jollyship the Whiz-Bang, afro-beat ensemble Amayo's  
Fu-Arkist-Ra,
acrobatic salsa pair Paradizo Dance and traditional Mexican Dance  
Company Calpulli.
End the day by getting your groove on to the mellow and powerful  
spinner of truth
DJ Oja (o-jah).
This year we are Growing Arts, Going Green, partnering with  
environmentally-conscious,
community organizations that will offer a range of activities and  
information on
  everything from affordable housing to greening your community and  
home - featuring
the Urban Divers tipi, with workshops and underwater exhibits; the  
Center for the
Urban Environment with info on family-led recycling, composting and  
gardening; free
canoe and kayak rides; a bio-diesel demonstration; and Brooklyn  
Waterfront Greenway
Initiative's free bike valet parking service.
