This list has been going on now for quite a while, in fact all the way
back to November 2010:
https://lists.mayfirst.org/pipermail/ssc-dev/ The first message was sent
by Bryan about a startup doing facial recognition, and since then, we've
made amazing progress in trying to really understand more deeply and
implement our ideas around smart camera technology applied to rights,
justice and freedom.

While I love mailing lists, they tend to be a bit insular, and really
only good for communicating with a small set of people, and not very
accessible from the web as useful content for all to index, see, find
and share. With that in mind, we are trying to both reduce the number of
lists we have, rely on our project tracker more, while also migrating
over to our new public "Developer Square" site at https://devsq.net.

The forum portion of DevSq is built on Discourse.org which is modern
take on a message board, that has good email integration, a great mobile
web interface, and all in all, is a real pleasure to use. DevSq is our
medium for outreach, awareness, and advocacy to anyone interested in
secure, open-source mobile technology, and as part of that, any of the
standards, code or concepts we have developed within the various
ObscuraCam and InformaCam efforts.

So, we've setup a "Smart Cameras" forum there, which you can find here:
https://talk.developersquare.net/c/developers-corner/smart-cameras
You can sign up with a Github or Twitter account, or create a new
account just for the site.

>From here, then is the plan:

1) If you have a bug report, feature requests, or other issue related to
InformaCam, ObscuraCam, or CamCipher library, then please use the
project tracker: https://dev.guardianproject.info/projects/informacam -
I will also be posting release news to this project tracker more, and
general try to keep it as up-to-date and accurate as possible

2) For anything else that is just general ideas, discussions about Smart
Camera technology, announcements, updates, ideas, then please post that
all to the "Smart Cameras" forum here:
https://talk.developersquare.net/c/developers-corner/smart-cameras
We really want it to become the home for anyone interested in this
topic.

3) If you really still want to just use a mailing list, we still have
our Guardian-Dev list:
https://lists.mayfirst.org/mailman/listinfo/guardian-dev for all general
guardian project technical matters

4) Finally, if you have a specific question or topic that you want to
discuss related to a funded project, deployment, implementation, etc,
that you feel is not a public topic, then please feel free to still
communicate directly with me or any member of the Guardian Project team

I will keep ssc-dev on, but I think over time we will use it less, and
less, in lieu of these other options. As for our weekly scrums, I would
like to propose that we make them more of a public event, which we
announce on the forum, and hold using a more public tool like JitMeet,
so that anyone can join the discussion. I need to find a new time that
works for me, as well, since Wednesday isn't so good at this point.

Thanks for all of your interest, participation, and support over there
years, and I can't wait to see you on Developer Square.

Best,
Nathan
