Hello friends of Information Ecology --

We hope this email finds you staying safe and discovering a path through
the chaos of these times. As we are grieving the massive loss of life,
the systemically racist disparities in who is most affected, and the
disaster capitalism profiting off all of it, we continue to be grateful
to be in community and solidarity with people like you in this fertile
moment of change.

We have two sessions this month in our community discussion series on
Navigating Disrupted Operations. So far in these calls, learnings,
gratitude, and grounding have been abundant and we would love for you to
join us as we continue to untangle the questions of these times
together. Generally, we've been talking for 60 minutes and then a small
group has stayed on for 30 minutes of continued conversation. Come for
as long or as little as you can!

Our next session, Navigating Disrupted Operations: Internal
Communications Challenges will be on Thursday, May 14th at 11 am PT/1 pm
ET [1]. We'll be discussing how to have more easeful and effective
technology mediated communication despite all the challenges a
shelter-in-place presents.

The following session, Navigating Disrupted Operations: Virtual
Facilitation Sandbox will be on Thursday, May 18th at 11am PT/1 pm ET
[2]. Facilitating virtual meetings is challenging; attention is divided
and presence harder to find. There are all sorts of tactics available to
address it, but they can feel silly or hard to experiment with in normal
meetings. Information Ecology is going to host a play space for us all
to share, workshop, and develop our best virtual facilitation exercises.

We expect to convene these sessions every other Thursday at this same
time, so mark your calendars now! If there are topics you would like to
see us cover, send us a message!

Air hugs, Jonah and Lisa
