Patch accepted, and seems to be working great.

I've commited it, along with a number of other updates (including some
major UI cleanups and the new locale selector dialog), as 0.0.7-RC1. I
think we are a good point of stability to get 0.0.7-FINAL out, and
into the market shortly.
