Hey Abel,

A nice thorough overview of the issues, I definitely agree with the goals.

As for the Eclipse files, I think that we need to have the main Eclipse files
in git (.project and .classpath), but the user-specific ones should not be
included.  As far as I know, 'android update project' relies on .project and
.classpath to generate the build system, and it seems to be doing a pretty
good job of it in our jenkins builds.
