[guardian-dev] Orweb UX

Congrats on the awesome new release of Orweb! It's so pretty from the
getgo. Instead of a confusing v2 pasted on the end, it's a beautiful,
simple "Orweb"

A few suggestions for usability:
-Auto-start Orbot: If orbot is not running, it now asks to start orbot. A
great improvement! It would be preferred to not ask but simply start orbot
running in the background and show a screen saying that orbot is starting,
perhaps with a progress bar or dancing happy Orbot icon. Hans suggests that
it's an ask once and default to always, but I don't think we need to ask
once.
-Cleaner language: currently the language around the asks is full of
developer-focused jargon. Something like "Starting Orbot: Enabling a more
private and anonymous internet connection for web surfing, powered by
Tor.", if we choose to keep it or have it as a one-time pop up.
-Cleaner install: "Install Orbot: You must have our sister app Orbot
installed to enable a more private and anonymous internet connection.
Please install it from: [menu w graphics] Google Play (if installed),
F-droid (if installed), Directly." -> If clicking "no" we need to have an
explanation page about Tor and give them the option to click 'yes' after".
-Install language issue: If a user downloads this and doesn't speak
english, it could be a problem for them to click yes. Can we automatically
send users to Play (default) or Direct (backup) if they haven't made a
choice in 7 seconds?
-Faster install: When clicking "yes" I don't have Orbot installed but would
like it to be, it does a search of the Play store for the name. Can we
immediately pull up the project page so that users can install it
immediately without clicking twice to install. [I am on a crusade against
excessive clicks after all]
-Orbot spam: there's a strange "connected to the tor network" spam message
that comes up that says that the device is not secure and refers to a check
option. I don't believe that option exists. And it confuses and takes away
from Orweb. Is there a way that Orweb can circumvent Orbot and messages
like this more smoothly?

Note: this has been added to the redmine:

Mark
