Hi Lee,

I'm really pleased you think Briar's cool - and quite pleased that you
think it's abstract too, because the goal is to design something that
can survive a few rounds of the censorship/circumvention cat and mouse
game.

Right now the project's at the alpha stage for Android. The backend
for Windows, Mac and Linux is mostly done but there's no UI for those
platforms.

The alpha release allows you to add contacts, create and share
discussion groups and blogs, and exchange private messages with your
contacts. Attachments and large messages aren't supported yet, and the
UI's pretty rudimentary. There are transport plugins for Bluetooth,
TCP and Tor; on desktop platforms we'll also support dialup modems and
USB sticks.

You can download the alpha here if you'd like to try it out:
https://fulpool.org/Briar-alpha.apk (NOT SAFE FOR USE IN THE REAL WORLD)

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Michael
