There is no positive side at all to the spooks in the current brouhaha, 
so you're claiming they're incompetent.

If this is a false flag, it backfired massively. The fallout is already
massive, and it will continue for years. As a result the cryptography
ecosystem will become a lot more trustable, and resilient. Proprietary
systems will be weakened, reliance on cloud will be harder to justify,
system security and code quality are going to increase.
