Dear friends,
A friend pointed me to this email by Chris Ballinger [1], in which it is stated:
"We are working on adding OTRDATA support in ChatSecure-iOS, as well as
considering implementing Cryptocat's file transfer spec”
Please do not waste your time implementing our file transfer spec! We are planning to abandon our file transfer specification in favour of adopting OTRDATA. This is because there have been some issues lately with our spec, and we think it would be intelligent to resolve them while at the same time helping unify the specs for file transfer.
So, instead of you wasting time implementing our spec, let us work together on standardizing and globalizing OTRDATA. We want to implement it in our iPhone app (thereby securing cross-compatibility with ChatSecure-iOS) and I will also volunteer to utilize my JavaScript skills to write a web version.
Thanks,
NK
