The second most important thing is, that when they possess encryption
keys, they do not need to use active attack with IMSI catcher. They can
just completely passively listen to the (encrypted) communication and
decrypt it on the fly.

Which means IMSI catcher detectors like SnoopSnitch or AIMSICD will
detect nothing.

That also explains the rumors that NSA has the ability to break 4G/LTE
encrypted communications - when you have the keys, "cryptanalysis" in
simple! :-)
