Might be of interest to some on this list, I aim to be there since its
in my home town. It unfortunately overlaps with the Internet Freedom
Festival in Valencia.

Dear colleague,

We are pleased to announce the second Android Security Symposium to be
hosted in Vienna, Austria on March 8-10, 2017.

    https://usmile.at/symposium

The Android Security Symposium will bring together people from different
backgrounds (academic, industry, rooting/exploiting community) who are
interested in or actively working on Android device security. The event
will feature exciting expert talks on various topics around Android and
mobile device security and privacy. The symposium is an ideal platform
to discuss current and upcoming security developments in Android and
provides various networking opportunities.

*First speaker announcements*

* Android compiler fingerprinting
Tim Strazzere and Caleb Fenton (RedNaga, Oakland, CA, USA)

* Secure positioning: From GPS to IoT
  Srdjan Capkun (ETH Zurich, Switzerland)

* State of security of Android banking apps in Poland
Tomasz Zielinski (PGS Software S.A., Wroclaw, Poland)

Stay tuned for updates to the program:

*Registration*

Registration is now open. Attendance is free of charge for everybody,
including press, students, academia, and industry participants. However,
the number of attendants is limited, and registrations will be given out
on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are interested in joining,
please register online at https://usmile.at/symposium/registration

*Want to become a sponsor?*

Help us to keep the event free of charge to all participants by becoming
a sponsor. Various sponsoring opportunities are available. Contact
<symposium at usmile.at> if you are interested.

*Want to become a speaker?*

You are working on a hot topic around Android, or mobile device security
and/or privacy? You want to present your work to a broad audience? Send
a proposal for your talk to <symposium at usmile.at>.

Finally, we also ask you to re-distribute this call for participation to
members of your group, colleagues, and friends who you know to be
interested in Android device security. This symposium will bring
together an exciting set of speakers, but will excel with an interested
and engaged audience to create and filter ideas for future interest and
developments in mobile device security mechanisms.

Kind regards,
Michael Roland
(for the organization committee of the Android Security Symposium)
