[guardian-dev] Combining Firewall , Secure DNS and Tor

I've been happily using RethinkDNS (aka https://www.bravedns.com/ aka
https://github.com/celzero/rethink-app) in recent days, integrating it
with Orbot's SOCKS proxying. This gives me a VPN-based Firewall, more
secure DNS-over-HTTPS/TLS options, and traffic proxying over Tor in one
smooth setup.

You can integrate with Orbot using the "Experimental" proxying setting,
which is set to Orbot's localhost:9050 config by default. I've also
opened an issue to try to make this integration more automatic moving
forward: https://github.com/celzero/rethink-app/issues/131

We've considering adding some of these firewall "little snitch" type
features into Orbot's VPN directly, but even so, it would likely never
approach the capabilities and set of options that Rethink has. Would
love to any thoughts on this combination or feature set, or other setups
you all might be using to achieve a similar result.
