Grassroots Movement Relief Effort Message-ID: <0IMK00FC09QWTEY1@vms048.mailsrvcs.net> Peace folks, As most of you know MXGM, our ally and office mate organization is coordinating a grassroots movement relief effort, collecting supplies and donations for distribution in the rural areas of Mississippi. We are in a crunch time as we are aiming to have the boxes shipped out either tomorrow (Saturday) or Monday by UPS. We must have everything SORTED, PACKAGED, LABELED and READY to be SHIPPED OUT ASAP. We are in need of the following immediately and we are asking for your help: 1) We need brand new or almost new SHIPPING BOXES (approximately around the following sizes (mostly of this type): 16x16x14 or 16x16x16 to 18x18x14 to 18x18x20 or larger) ? if each person can secure 5-10 of these boxes and bring them to the office that would be tremendously helpful. The office is running out of space at this point and we have more donations coming in that we need to pack up. At this point we are in need of close to 100 boxes between now and Monday so you can imagine the urgency of this request. 2) We need volunteers to help with the packaging of the boxes ? please email me if you can volunteer a few hours to help out with sorting and packaging the supplies a. Hours: 10am to 10pm today and 8am until ??? Saturday and Sunday (until we are done!) 3) $$$ is also appreciated to help with packaging, shipping and of course for donation ? boxes and tape and etc. All checks should be made out to Malcolm X Grassroots Movement. Thanks for all your help ? please go to HYPERLINK "http://www.nomoreprisons.org/"www.nomoreprisons.org for the Grassroots Movement Relief Effort Flyer. Please read below for message from Malika of Malcolm X Grassroots Movement:: Greetings all, Tonite we need folks to come through to the MXGM office to help with packing and to bring more boxes so that all the donations we collected can be shipped out this weekend! The MXGM office is knee deep in donations and more are expected to arrive this evening from our other 3 drop off locations. WE REALLY NEED FOLKS TODAY (WE WILL BE PACKING TONITE UNTIL 10PM/11PM). WE WILL ALSO NEED FOLKS TO VOLUNTEER TOMORROW MORNING/AFTERNOON (FROM 8AM) TO ASSIST WITH THIS PACKING AND BRINGING BOXES (WE NEED ALL SIZES BUT ARE FOCUSING ON GETTING 18x18x24 OR LARGER)! See you tonite, Malika Kate Kyung Ji Rhee Director Prison Moratorium Project 388 Atlantic Avenue 3rd Fl.
