LOWDOWN JANUARY 2010

Happy New Year! May First/People Link membership grows, members launch
donation campaigns, and the US Social Forum organizing efforts blaze
ahead as 2010 arrives!

MF/PL NEWS & EVENTS

The Praxis Project (a highly active MF/PL member and one of the most
respected organizations of its type in this country) has elected Alfredo
Lopez, MF/PL co-director, a member of its Board of Directors. This honor
reflects the work of May First/People Link and the high regard in which
this organization is held. Deepening the collaboration of MF/PL with
Praxis will greatly contribute to the political importance of Internet
and technology work in the coming period.

All servers running a central Drupal installation have been updated with
the most recent security patches. Currently installed versions are
Drupal 5.21 and Drupal 6.15. No database updates are necessary.

MEMBER NEWS

Louis Head, Leadership Committee member, and SWOP, May First/People Link
member are co-hosting the National Planning Committee of the US Social
Forum this month. May First/People Link Co-director Alfredo Lopez and
Leadership Committee Members Mallory Knodel and Josue Guillen will be
attending the NPC meeting.

The 2010 War Resisters League Peace Calendar "Sparking Change:Poster Art
& Politics" is now available. This year, the theme of the calendar
highlights a collection of some of the world's most evocative
