INTERPRETERS NEEDED FOR MAY FIRST/PEOPLE LINK MEMBERSHIP MEETING

May First/People Link will hold its annual membership meeting on Sunday October
28th from sites in both Mexico City and New York. While we have the tech
component of communication on lock, we need some volunteer interpreters to make
sure that everyone’s voice is heard and no information is lost.

The times that need coverage during the day are
- 9am DF/10am NYC – 1130am DF/1230pm NYC
- 315pm DF/415pm NYC – 4pm DF/5pm NYC

At a minimum we need 4 interpreters for the day to work in teams of two,
switching off every 20 minutes, during each of the two sections noted above. Of
course, the more folks step up to volunteer, the lighter the load for everyone.
Interpreters can be present in either Mexico City or New York.

We are looking for folks that :

- are skilled at consecutive interpreting (relaying the message without adding,
  deleting, or changing)
- can work for 20 uninterrupted minutes
- are familiar with technical vocabulary, jargon
- are OK with not participating in the discussion during their interpretation shift

SE OCUPAN INTÉRPRETES PARA LA REUNIÓN DE MEMBRESÍA DE PRIMERO DE MAYO / ENLACE DEL PUEBLO

Primero de Mayo / Enlace del Pueblo celebrará su reunión de membresía anual el
domingo, 28 de octubre desde locales en la Ciudad de México y en Nueva York.
Mientras los componentes tecnológicos necesarios para la comunicación están en
orden, necesitamos intérpretes voluntari at s para asegurar que se escuchen la
voces de tod at s y de que no se pierda información.

Las horas que requieren interpretación son:
- 9am DF/10am NYC – 1130am DF/1230pm NYC
- 315pm DF/415pm NYC – 4pm DF/5pm NYC

Mínimo necesitamos 4 intérpretes a través del día que trabajen en equipos de
dos, cambiando cada 20 minutos, durante las dos secciones ya notadas. Claro que
entre más voluntarios, menos la carga para tod at s. L at s intérpretes pueden estar
ubicados tanto en México como en Nueva York.

Buscamos a personas que:

- son diestr at s en interpretación consecutiva (transmitir el mensaje sin añadir,
  omitir, o cambiar el contenido)
- pueden trabajar sin interrupción por 20 minutos
- están familiarizad at s con vocabulario o jerga técnica
- están conformes con no participar en las discusiones durante sus turnos de interpretación
