The Leadership Committee of May First/People Link calls our members to our annual membership meeting to set our organization's goals for the coming year, discuss and approve structural and administrative proposals and elect a Leadership Committee to implement our decisions.

This year's Membership Meeting will take place over a two-month period starting August 29, 2013 with the start of Leadership Committee nominations, through September 19, 2013 to October 3, 2013 with three weekly phone "mesas" or working group meetings and ending with our "face to face" (and remote, of course) membership meeting on October 19, 2013 at the Alwan Center for the Arts in New York City as our U.S. location, at a Mexico location still being defined and remotely throughout the world. 

The Mesas:

All members of MF/PL may participate in the phone mesas. These mesas will not make final decisions but will fashion proposals and topics of discussion for the corresponding mesa at the final face to face meeting.

Members may also make appropriate proposals to these mesas as they see fit. Proposals should be forwarded to the LC Co-Presidents (Alfredo and Juan Gerardo) who will suggest assignment to a mesa. The proposal will, however, be immediately published on the Membership Meeting page.  

Decisions will not be made during the lead-up meetings. These meetings are intended to generate discussion and identify areas of agreement and debate so that we may more effectively make decisions at the membership meeting. All mesas are expected to address the political vision of the organization at the beginning of each meeting, in order to help politically frame the rest of the membership meeting process. Here is the scedule.

September 19, 2013 -- Infrastructure, Resources and Security in Communications -- this mesa will address the stability and resilience of our infrastructure and systems. In addition to our technology infrastructure, this mesa also must address paid vs volunteer staffing, office and other recurring expenses, as well as securing our internal and external communications.   

September 26, 2013 -- Membership Recruitment, Movement Work and Strategy -- this mesa will address both outreach and inreach strategies, campaigns, conferences and how and what messages we are communicating. 

October 3, 2013 -- Structure, Democracy, Membership Involvement, Administration and the conditions of development outside the US -- this mesa will tackle our democratic processes and structure -both in the US and Mexico - with the goal of increasing participation and involvement of our members. It will also review the coop initiative in Mexico and the conditions for the development of new organizational processes in other countries.

Face to Face Meeting

Saturday -- October 19, 2013 -- NYC

The face to face meeting is the culmination of the meeting process. We are now able to accommodate remote participation from both the U.S. and Mexico. At this culmination meeting, a member decides which "mesa" they want to participate in and stick with that mesa all day.

Por la presente, anunciado por su Comité de Dirección, quedan convocados los miembros del Primero de Mayo/Enlace Popular para que se junten en nuestra reunión de miembresía del año 2013 con el objectivo de definir los objectivos principales del año entrante, discutir e aprobar propuestas estructurales e administrativas y elegir un comité de dirección para implementar nuestras decisiónes.

La reunión este año se realizará por un periodo de dos meses empezando el 29 de agosto cuando se inicia el proceso de elección del CD, sigiendo el 19 septiembre a 3 de octubre, 2013 con tres mesas y terminando con nuestra reunión cada a cada (y por el Internet) el 19 de octubre en el Alwan Center for the Arts en nueva york (el lugar en EEUU), un lugar en Mexico todavia no anunciado y por el Internet.

Las Mesas Preliminares:

Todos nuestros miembros pueden participar en todas las mesas por preliminares.

Los miembros pueden hacer propuestas como consideran indicado. Las propuestas deben enviarse e los Co-Presidentes (Alfredo y Juan Gerardo) para asignación a una mesa. Sin embargo, la propuestas serán publicadas en la pagina del web de la reunión.

No se harán decisiónes finales durante las mesas. Estas se dedican a generar discusión e identificar areas de acuerdo y debate para facilitar nuestra capacidad de hacer decisiónes en la reunión de miembros. Se espera que todas las mesas se dirigen a la visión politica de la organización al comienzo de cada reunión para orientar mejor el resto del proceso de reunión de miembros.

19 septiembre, 2013: Infra-estructura, recursos y seguridad en comunicación -- esta mesa se dirige a la estabilidad y fuerza de nuestra infraestructura y sistemas. En adición, se dirige al trabajo voluntario y pagado, la oficina y otros gastos permanentes tanto como la seguridad de nuestra infraestructura.

26 septiembre, 2013: Reclutamiento, trabajo en el movimiento y visión politica  -- esta mesa elabora politica sobre el desarrollo de relaciónes externas e internas, las campañas y conferencias, como comunicamos y que mensage divulgamos.

3 octubre, 2013: Estructura, democrácia, envolvimiento de miembros, administración y condiciónes de desarrollo fuera de los EEUU -- esta mesa bregará con nuestros procesos democraticos y nuestra estructura -- tanto en EEUU como en Mexico -- con el objetivo de incrementar participación e envolvimiento de nuestros miembros. Tambien discutirá le iniciativa de la cooperativa en Mexico y condiciónes para el desarrollo de procesos organizativos en otros paises.

Reunión Cada a Cada -- 19 octubre, 2013 --- NYC

La cada a cada es el culmo del proceso de reunión. Somos capaces de facilitar participación remota de ambos paises. En esta reunión cada miembro decide en que mesa participará y se queda con es mesa por toda la reunión.
