*Good Morning from Occupy Boston!*
*
*
*Fact of the Day:* The US spends almost as much (or depending on how you
measure, more than) the rest of the world combined in military
spending<http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/04/11/157596/military-spending-doubled-since-2001/>,
including $895 billion
<http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CCUQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fuseconomy.about.com%2Fod%2Fusfederalbudget%2Fp%2FFY-2011-Federal-Budget.htm&ei=MCTLToP4Hsji0QGGuKAz&usg=AFQjCNFxWZZq9vITHPQznsysTvmHQ5qZhg&sig2=yXXIGWe-s-oOvpsIVkEVQw>in
2011. Also, 21% of children
<http://www.nccp.org/topics/childpoverty.html>in the US are living in
poverty.

*News from Occupy Boston:* Police arrested 15
protesters<http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/11/21/police-arrest-15-at-massachusetts-foreclosure-protest/>who
were occupying a home in Springfield yesterday trying to prevent a
no-fault foreclosure.
 *
*
*News from other Occupations:* With a continuation of a violent
crackdown<http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2011/11/20111121172949588785.html>on
protests in Egypt which have so far left 33 dead and 1,500 wounded,
Egypt's interim cabinet has offered to resign.

Over at UC Davis; days after police pepper-sprayed students at point blank,
Chancellor Katehi found herself on an eerie walk of shame as students
engaged in a quiet yet poignant protest, lining a path three blocks long
and sitting in complete
silence<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8775ZmNGFY8&feature=player_embedded>as
she walked to her car.

*Occupy Boston - Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011*
