Putting the Kabosh on Coal

On July 27-28th, over one thousand citizens will come together for a
mobilization at the Brayton Point Coal Plant, in Somerset, MA the largest
fossil fuel plant between Maryland and Maine. We will call for
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and others to immediately close the
Brayton Point coal plant and ensure a just transition for workers and host
communities from the West Virginian mines to Somerset.

So far, we have close to 500 climate leaders signed up to take action to
shut down Brayton Point. But if we’re going to make this huge, we need even
more.

Sacred World Interdependence Day Gathering: Thursday, July 4th-Sunday, July
7th.

We were all born to be creative. Sacred World Interdependence Day (SWID)
around July 4th weekend brings people together to reclaim inspiration
through the performing (expressive) and healing arts, and through building
healthy relations to the world we are a part of.

SWID offers a variety of in depth classes in yoga, wild crafting,
sustainability, alternative healing modalities, sacred dance, shamanism,
fire spinning and community activism etc. Musical acts take the stage for
your dancing and listening pleasure. Artists gather to create interactive
art installations to engage and inspire.

On Friday night The Sacred World Bellydance Review will be showcasing local
dancers and artists with performances by some great bands as well. Later
that night we hold an all night Sacred Fire Circle Ceremony bringing a
sense of ritual, renewal and healing by drumming, dancing and singing till
dawn.

Saturday night features live music, live art, circus performances and dj's
playing all night under the stars...

Earthlands Preserve is a truly beautiful off the grid facility operated by
the Institute of Environmental Awareness.

The event's capacity is limited to 300 people (at one time). This is a
camping event. Attendees are asked to bring organic food to share, or can
purchase meals on site. We also ask that everyone offer an hour of service
to help hold the event.
