Dear conference panelists,
Thank you for agreeing to discuss your work at the upcoming conference
on Human Rights and Technology, “Advancing the New Machine”. We are
excited by the breadth and depth of experience that will be represented.
I just send a similar email from DROPBOX and realized that it may go
into your JUNK folder. You will find here attached the draft program.
Please make sure that the information and schedule provided is accurate.
A brief description of each panel has been provided, but the exact
content is flexible. Two years ago, “Soul of the New Machine”
<_http://www.law.berkeley.edu/HRCweb/events/NewMachineConference/index.html_>
focused on establishing the lay of the land – who is doing what and
where. Our aim this year is to focus on lessons learned and upcoming
challenges in your respective areas. Each panel has a moderator and
three to four panelists.
We ask the moderators to act as a liaison between panelists and moderate
the panel and discussion. Each panelist should have a presentation of
about 10 minutes. You may use audiovisual support. A PC laptop with
PowerPoint and projector will be provided for your use. If you use any
other format or need a Mac, please let us know in advance.
In order to prepare for the conference, we ask that you provide us with
a copy of your presentation by Friday April 22nd. You may upload your
presentation to the DROPBOX folder (
https://www.dropbox.com/home/AdvancingNewMachine#:::40594245). You may
wish to bring an extra copy of your presentation on flash drive or
stored in your e-mail, in case a backup is needed.
Late next week you will receive an e-mail from our conference manager,
Melissa Carnay, outlining directions, parking information, travel and
accommodation details for out of town speakers, and other logistical
information. Any questions regarding these items may be directed to her.
Best regards,
Phuong
