First of all, thanks for the incredible work you put into your JPEGMovieAnimation class.

I am working on a project in collaboration with the Guardian Project and WITNESS on a series of apps related to an initiative called Secure Smart Cam:

We have released the first version of an initial app, one that supports still images and the built-in camera.

We are now moving forward with our plans for video and are attempting to figure out the best route forward with regards to formats.  In our research we have come across your work and it may just fit.   Here is the wiki page we are using to document our research:
