No problem, glad it didn't go completely ignored! The biggest thing that
I want feedback on is the split between normal playback and
playback+edit. Is this actually necessary or not really required? I
ended up thinking that a simple 'preview' feature is an important enough
feature to split out.
More feedback below in-line.

[DH] - I've liked how they work in the current iteration of ObscuraCam,
so I was going for something consistent there. Generally speaking and
based off a lot of anecdotal evidence that Nathan and I have been
seeing, menu-based controls are just proving to be non-intuitive. So
this in an effort to stick everyone on screen.

I understand that you would like to have two modes but I think the record mode should be for all of the regions, not just the one you happen to have active at the moment.
[DH] - Yeah, this is something that I was thinking about as well. I
chose to make it one region at a time for a number of reasons - (a) it'd
be quite difficult to simultaneously record the tracks of more than one
region at a time, both for the user and (probably) for the app. (b) how
strong is the need on the user side for simultaneous multi-region
editing? My gut says not very strong, and that I'd rather simplify the
interactive flow than overly complicate it - overlapping regions, etc.
could potentially create havoc.

[DH] - Totally agree that 'Record' is a bad option. How about 'Track'?
