Hi Nathan

In what exactly we would do at the event I'm happy to be guided by you
on what you think would be most realistic and achievable.

My first idea though is to have a challenge where we encouraged people
to try and break through the security of the two tools - a real hack.
We'll offer a prize to anyone who can accurately attain the encrypted
information. We'd set it up to be as close as possible to a test of what
they might be up against in the field. How does that sound?

Alternatively we can work on some other element of the tool (or another
of your projects) that you think might benefit from some focussed expert
input. For example, we're likely going to be working on a usability
upgrade of the browser version of TOR as one of the other projects on
the day.

Small Axe is a startup communications co-op I co-founded with a
colleague, which will be acting as the coordinating/accountable body for
this event. The reality is though it will be a collaborative project -
along with Tor we've already had some discussions with Tactical Tech,
Open Rights Group, and a some Human Rights groups and NGOs. Obviously
we're still in the planning stages at the moment, but happy to answer
any questions, and open to anyone who wants to get involved.

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan. I have cc'd our SecureSmartCam dev list on this response.

The main question is what type of skillset do you think will participate
in your hackathon? If you really wanted to add new features, then you
would need an Android UI type. If you wanted to focus on security
capabilities, then obviously attracting people with that background
    would be necessary.

Also, is there a group or organization that you are affiliated with
(Small Axe?) that is the coordinator for this? Just curious.

    Best,
     Nathan
