We will be participating in the "Activist Demo Day" at Eyebeam this
weekend. I am not really sure who will show up, or how many people will
be there, but I thought it would be a good place to meet other activist
tech makers, and just generally hangout at Eyebeam.
If anyone can make it between 3 and 6pm this weekend, to demo, chit chat
with people, etc, let me know. I could use the help if so.

Hello!
We are very pleased to accept your proposal to participate in Demo-Day!
We received a large quantity of applications and the steering committee
picked about fifteen projects that are most relevant to our interest and
that present a room for growth and collaboration.
At this point, Can you write back to us with answers on:
1. If you can participate on the event in 1.28 3~6pm at Eyebeam. Set up
begins at noon.
The basic tech support include a desk, chairs, internet and power. We do
have some monitors available. You will be expected to bring all printed
material and additional technology. Please consult with us if you need
special technical support, such as projector or sound system.
2.How many of you will be presenting the project? and how much space
will you need?
Please write back as soon as possible, 9 am Monday January 23rd at the
latest. We are hoping to include names of participants in the press
release and aiming to send it out by noon Monday.
(It is okay if you were not able to check this message over the weekend
and Monday morning and writing back later then the deadline. Your
participation will still be valid, and we will continue to advertise
through the website and Eyebeam's media channel.)
cheers
Taeyoon.

Apologies for the late submission. I lead an effort called the Guardian
Project, and we are are working on a variety of open-source mobile tools
for activists.
We are developing a secure camera application named ObscuraCam in
partnership with Witness.org, the leading human rights video advocacy
and training organization. This collaboration grew out of an open
hackday at the 2010 Open Video Conference.
The main project page is here:

A video story on our project is here:

Here are some of the user stories we aim to support, along with links
where to track our progress and find out more:
1) An activist group records a video interview of a spokesperson at a
protest and wants to protect the identify of the people in the
background of the shot.
Development of video filtering and processing is underway:

2) A rights defender uses their smartphone to take many pictures of
abuses in a village. On their way back to their hotel, they are detained
by local authorities and their phone is confiscated.

features planning:

3) The internet and mobile network are shutdown. Images taken at a
protest of human rights abuses need to be delivered out of the country.

Xfer is our video upload and download app that works over the Tor
network: https://github.com/guardianproject/sscxfer
4) My phone could be compromised. I have already delivered what I need
to. I want to remove all traces of any images captured.
InTheClear is our panic/data-wipe app:
