Hi all,
Happy new year!
I just got word from the AAAS on-call scientists program that they found a
potential volunteer, Dr. P.A. Rai Menges. Have a look at her introduction
and let me know how you'd like to proceed.
Thanks,
Bryan

Dear Bryan,
I write to refer a volunteer in the On-Call Scientists network who is
available to help WITNESS with its mobile device applications. Dr. P.A. Rai
Menges is a physicist based in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has expertise in
imaging analysis, database security and threat analysis and is very
interested in helping with this project. Her references have confirmed her
expertise in these areas and also that she is skilled at communicating
scientific concepts and findings to team members who come from different
areas of expertise.

I will inform Dr. Menges that I am sending her contact information to you
and that you will contact her directly. While I am optimistic that she will
be able to provide you with the expertise you seek, please remember that
there is no obligation to accept this recommendation.
I am continuing to vet other On-call Scientists for the other aspects of
this project you had requested and anticipate making those referrals very
soon. In the meantime, if you determine that additional experts are needed
beyond your original request, please let me know.
I suggest you review our "Expectations of Host Organizations" which we
compiled to help facilitate your collaboration
http://oncallscientists.aaas.org/support/Policies.aspx. I am also attaching
a copy of "Human Rights Projects: Guidelines for Scientists and Human
Rights Organizations." This document was created to help facilitate strong
working relationships between scientists and human rights practitioners.
I look forward to hearing of the progress of your work and will be in
contact in the coming months to seek your feedback on the experience of
working through On-call Scientists.
Best regards,
Theresa
