Nathan and I were chatting yesterday about the pain of getting location data
in Informa. I had an idea that could potentially simplify that part. Since
InformaCam is about gathering data and embedding it into the image, why not
just put whatever raw location-related data there is into the j3m and skip
using the APIs that use that data to convert it into the location (I think its
the Google Play Services API).
Then the viewer could resolve that data when its viewed. The big question is
whether Play Services can get raw data that is otherwise not available.
Otherwise, InformaCam should just take whatever available GPS, cell tower, and
wifi data and stick it in the j3m.
