Forgot to add:
To get a sense of the progress of a submission, notifications will now
include a field called "task_queue". You can (ostensibly) calculate
progress off its length.
But! the task queues are configured on-the-fly and have causal
relationships. For example: an image that has its metadata encrypted will
take 1 more step to complete than one with plaintext metadata; but we won't
know that until either image gets to task 3, when suddenly the length of
its task queue will change. So..... that's where we are now, and I'm sure
you can work with it, but how could we make it easier for you?
Some tasks will not be part of a queue, and thus no "task_queue" field in
the message. (Like, the "chatty" sync task.) So don't worry if you don't
see it everywhere.
