Two things stand out as interesting. First, that the video and audio
recording are automatically sent to the ACLU. This is something we've
talked about in various forms, but it does seem to make sense if the
person documented feels under threat.
The second is the "witness" feature that notifies other nearby users of
the app of the situation. This is an interesting idea, though I am not
sure how dense the userbase is, unless it is coordinated and promoted,
as part of a march, gathering, etc.
It doesn't seem like they are doing anything related to strengthening
the digital evidence, or any real security measures, but I think that is
not their point. They are just trying to create an easy conduit between
at risk folks and the ACLU, instead of just having people post to
Youtube or Snapchat (which would be bad since it disappears!:) )
