Dear Occupy Boston:

Thanks so much for the update. I visited your community yesterday and was
very impressed. I am using your updates to notify my friends, who are all
mainstream and employed people. I want to counteract the media's portrayal
of the Occupy Movement as being at best students and unemployed and at worst
homeless and druggies. I know from what I saw yesterday that this is not
true.

Keep up the good work. We support you.

Laurie

Subject: [Obupdates] Occupy Boston Daily Digest - Sunday, November 13, 2011

Good Morning from Occupy Boston!

Below please find your daily digest.

Fact of the Day: Today, a billionaire in the top 400 pays less than 17
percent
<http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/how-the-gop-became-the-party-of-t
he-rich-20111109?print=true> of his income in taxes - five percentage
points less than a bus driver earning $26,000 a year.

Occupy Boston News: Daily Digest was not around last month when this came
out, but wanted to bring readers' attention to this extraordinary interview
<http://blastmagazine.com/the-news/local-news/interview-rachel-mcneill-iraq-
war-veteran-arrested-with-occupy-boston/> by Iraq War Vet Rachel McNeil on
the Occupy Boston's confrontation with police Columbus Day weekend.

News from other Occupations: Upon the demands of occupiers, the mayor of
Burlington intervened to stop the police
<http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/11/11/mayor-frees-occupy-burlington-protest
er/> from unjustifiably arresting a protester. Lesson for the 99% of
Americans on the losing side of an all out class war: What do you do when
you are under attack? Stand up, fight back (video included).

Event Highlight: Boston's own Occupy the Hood
<http://www.occupyboston.org/2011/11/12/occupy-hood-town-hall-meeting-monday
-1114-6pm-dudley-library/> is having a town hall meeting this Monday,
11/14, the Dudley Square Branch of the Boston Public Library system. The
objective will be to discuss issues of concern to the community, and to
share updates on Occupy Boston, Ocupemos El Barrio, and various other
activist and community organizations. Come one, come all!
