[Ssc-dev] SSC Hardware for dev & deployment

Using WITNESS/SSC funds, I just purchased two Samsung Player 4.0 ($199)
and two Samsung Player 5.0 devices ($239), four 32gb micro sd cards, and
black neoprene cases. These are the latest revs of the device I have
been using very happily now for a few months, running Android
Gingerbread 2.3.5.

While they are wifi-only, they do support true GPS and Bluetooth 3.0,
and can be used easily with mifi-type hotspots. I have also had great
success in popping in micro SD cars from other high-end video cameras,
and having the video decode and playback just fine.

I really think these are the best showcase device as the "new Flip
Cameras", etc... in terms of low cost + decent processing + great
screen/sound, and overall usability.

These will be available for internal testing and dev, but ultimately our
goal is to use these for test deployments with users/orgs.
