Hello all -
Sorry for the technical difficulties during today's SSC call - we
covered the plan of action outlined yesterday by Nathan as well as a few
other points. See highlights below.
-D
1. *Testing* General agreement that we need to broaden our user base to
include more alpha testers on more devices. The plan to release via
guardian-dev and guardian-alpha TODAY (6/14) is a good one.
Action (Guardian): We need to get Shawn access to our Market account so
that he can have a look at crash logs when they are submitted.
2. *TOU* Bryan is going to be reaching out to Witness's legal team for
feedback on Terms of Use. Most of the work they do for Witness is pro
bono, so there's not always a quick turnaround. We agreed that finishing
a legal review by the end of June is a sound, realistic goal.
3. *FB Strategy* We should consolidate our efforts to a single location
on Facebook as opposed to having both a group and page. We agreed that a
Page is the better option currently for a number of reasons - it seems
easier to post to, is more accessible for non-FB users and doesn't
require a login.
Action (Nathan): Take down the FB group and provide admin credentials
for the Page to the team so we can help enhance it a bit more.
4. *Wider PR* For broader blog-posts and outreach, we kept the date for
this flexible depending on feedback from testing community. Targeting
Thursday / Friday of this week - and if there are issues, then pushing
to early next week.
Bryan will also be heading out to Bonn early next week for the Deutsche
Welle Global Media Forum and will be leading a workshop / walkthrough
focused on Obscura! The dates for the conference are June 19-22 and
Bryan's session is on the 22nd.
Action (Derek): Get Bryan a QR code for that session. See attached.
Action (Team): Figure out the best way for Bryan to gather feedback from
this session and get it into our hands. Paper handouts / online survey
are potential options.
Open Question (Bryan > Nathan): OVC is coming up in a few weeks. Ben
wants to host a session run by Bryan and Nathan that focuses on Obscura,
but also wants to invite a few people from the policy side as well as
people on the 'counterpoint' side for a discussion around philosophy of
each application. Potential orgs include Viewdle, Color, Facebook.
Action (Nathan, Bryan, others): Call this Thursday (6/16) with OVC team
